Crash-Rated Anti-Ram Security Bollard for High-Security Perimeter Protection M50/P2 | Global GRAB Hercules

SKU: SPB-1200
Vendor: Global GRAB

Crash-Rated Bollard Protection for Curved & Irregular Perimeters

Curved sidewalks, radius corners and changing elevations can make conventional connected bollard arrays difficult to accommodate. The Global GRAB Hercules M50 Set & Pour Bollard offers individually tested vehicle protection, giving designers greater flexibility to follow the site’s layout.

Hercules M50 bollards have been used at the Sphere in Las Vegas and are suited to high-security perimeter applications at airports, government facilities, military installations and stadiums. The SPB-1200 combines standalone M50/P2 crash performance with a prefabricated installation design.

Single-Unit Performance. Flexible Perimeter Layouts.

Unlike systems that rely on a connected three-bollard foundation array, Hercules is crash tested as a single unit. This makes it a useful option where a perimeter turns, follows a radius or crosses changes in grade.

  • Standalone crash rating: ASTM F2656-07 M50/P2 performance for the tested single-bollard configuration.
  • Set & Pour installation: Place the prefabricated unit in the prepared excavation and pour concrete according to the installation drawings.
  • No foundation rebar cage: The foundation does not require a field-installed reinforcing cage; the bollard assembly includes internal reinforcement.
  • Adaptable alignment: Accommodates turns and elevation changes without relying on a straight three-bollard array.
  • Appearance options: Available covers allow the security bollards to coordinate with the surrounding architecture.

Follow the Site’s Geometry

The perimeter around a building rarely consists of straight lines alone. Entrances, curved walkways and road edges can require individual bollard positions that do not fit a conventional array.

Hercules gives the design team an individually tested foundation approach for these locations. Bollard spacing, pedestrian access and the vehicle threat should still be reviewed together to establish a suitable protection line.

Applications & Facility Types

  • Stadiums and entertainment venues: Protect perimeter areas while following curved architectural layouts.
  • Airports: Add fixed vehicle protection around designated buildings and restricted areas.
  • Government and military facilities: Support perimeter designs requiring documented crash performance.
  • Commercial and critical infrastructure sites: Establish a fixed protection line where deep foundations are feasible.

Specify the Correct Performance Configuration

The standalone SPB-1200 is crash tested to M50/P2. The manufacturer separately identifies an engineered M50/P1 option using two or more Hercules units. These configurations should not be treated as interchangeable; confirm the required rating and supporting documentation for the proposed layout.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does Hercules require a connected three-bollard array?

No. The SPB-1200 is crash tested as a standalone bollard to M50/P2. This allows individual units to be positioned along an approved perimeter layout.

Can Hercules be installed along a curved sidewalk?

Yes. Its individual-unit approach is useful for radius layouts and changes in alignment. Final spacing and foundation placement should be reviewed for the site’s security and access requirements.

What does Set & Pour installation mean?

The prefabricated unit is placed in a prepared excavation and concrete is poured according to the manufacturer’s drawings. The foundation does not require a separate field-installed rebar cage, although the bollard assembly contains internal reinforcement.

Is Hercules a shallow-mount bollard?

No. Hercules SPB-1200 uses a deep-mount foundation with a published depth of 36 inches. Sites with underground utility conflicts or restricted excavation depth may require a different bollard system.

Can the bollards match the appearance of the property?

Available covers provide options for coordinating the bollards with the site’s architecture. Confirm the cover style, dimensions and compatibility when specifying the system.
