Shipping Large & Heavy Orders

Don't see a shipping price at checkout? That's normal for large or heavy orders.

Instead of showing an inaccurate or unnecessarily expensive automatic rate, we manually source LTL or truckload freight and send the cost to you for approval.

1. Place Your Order Complete checkout normally.
2. We Quote Freight We source the appropriate shipping option.
3. You Approve It We email the freight cost before we proceed.

Why Isn't Freight Calculated Automatically?

Many Barrier HQ products are large, heavy, oversized, palletized, or purchased in quantities better suited for LTL (Less-Than-Truckload) or FTL (Full Truckload) shipping instead of UPS or FedEx Ground.

  • Temporary construction fencing
  • Barricades and barriers
  • Large or heavy equipment
  • Large stanchion orders
  • Palletized quantities
  • Mixed-product orders

Freight pricing depends on more than total weight. Pallet dimensions, product configuration, destination, loading requirements and available carriers can materially change the cost.

For these orders, we intentionally quote freight separately rather than display an unreliable automated rate.

How the Freight Quote Works

1. Submit Your Order

Complete checkout normally. When freight needs to be quoted separately, you may see: Heavy - Oversized Freight - Quote for Approval.

2. We Review the Shipment

We review the products, quantities, dimensions, destination and available shipping options. If necessary, we may contact you for additional delivery information.

  • Commercial or residential location
  • Loading dock or forklift availability
  • Liftgate requirement
  • Construction site or limited-access facility
  • Trade show, airport or military facility
  • Delivery appointment requirements

3. We Email the Freight Cost

We send the shipping cost to you for approval before we proceed. If the rate works, you approve it. If not, you can decline or ask us to check another shipping option.

Why LTL Can Be Better Than UPS or FedEx Ground

Some orders technically qualify for parcel shipping but make more sense on a pallet. For example, 15 boxes weighing 40–60 lb each could ship individually by UPS, but securing them to a pallet and shipping LTL may be less expensive and reduce handling.

We choose the shipping method that makes the most sense for the actual order.

Small Orders

Smaller parcel orders normally ship UPS Ground or FedEx Ground. When reliable live rates are available, you'll see them at checkout.

Have Your Own Carrier?

No problem. We can arrange pickup by your freight carrier, broker, 3PL, or use your UPS/FedEx account when practical.

Need It by a Specific Date?

Why Barrier HQ Handles Freight This Way

Large and unusual shipments don't fit neatly into an automatic shipping calculator. Rather than build a large freight cushion into product pricing or show an inflated automatic estimate, we prefer to price products competitively and calculate freight based on the actual shipment.
