The Economy Crown Top rope stanchion brings the look of a classic velvet (velour) rope line to lobbies, theaters, restaurants and event entrances at a budget-friendly price. Its tapered crown finial gives a traditional, upscale profile, while a forged rope loop and a full-circumference rubber floor protector, features usually reserved for premium posts, make it exceptionally well specified for the price.
Choose a 12.5" dome base or a wider 14" sloped base. The sloped base supports rope runs of up to 8' between posts; the dome base is recommended for runs of up to 6'. The Crown Top can also be supplied with a tapped top to accept our post-top sign frames, and it is offered in black, polished stainless, satin stainless, polished brass and satin brass finishes or any of our custom finishes and powder coat colors.
Weatherizing (clear powder coat on post, double powder coat on base) add $59.00
Custom powder coats and specialty finishes have a 2 week lead time, small quantities may incur a surcharge

The Economy Rope Stanchion Crown Top is our most affordable way to create a classic velvet rope line without giving up the details that make a stanchion look and perform like a premium post. Each 39" post weighs about 20 lbs, uses a 2" diameter upright and finishes in a tapered crown top with the traditional look of a red-carpet entrance.
A crown top rope stanchion has a distinctive, slightly flared finial that reads as formal and upscale from across a room. Unlike a ball top, the crown top can also be supplied with a tapped top that accepts our post-top sign frames, so the same post can hold a velvet rope and display directions, "Please Wait Here" messages or event branding.
Economy rope stanchions are designed for indoor queue and crowd management where appearance matters as much as function: hotel lobbies, theater entrances, restaurant host stands, bank lines, museum exhibits, wedding receptions, retail checkouts and VIP areas. The full-circumference rubber floor protector on the underside of the base helps protect tile, hardwood and stone floors.
The Crown Top is offered with two base styles, and the right choice depends mainly on how far apart you plan to place your posts:
Both bases are made from concrete-filled galvanized steel with a decorative cover. Choose the sloped base for longer spans or busier spaces, and the dome base when you want a softer, more ornamental look over shorter runs.
Every Economy Rope Stanchion Crown Top includes a forged rope loop at the top of the post, a feature normally found on higher-priced stanchions. The loop accepts standard hook-end stanchion ropes, including the velvet (velour) ropes with polished chrome or polished brass ends that we carry in 6' and 8' lengths. Ropes are sold separately.
For a straight line, divide the total length by your rope length and add one post. With sloped bases and 8' ropes, a 40' line needs 6 posts and 5 ropes. With dome bases and 6' ropes, the same 40' line needs about 8 posts and 7 ropes. For queues with turns, add one post at every corner.
Standard finishes are black, polished stainless, satin stainless, polished brass and satin brass. To match a brand color, the economy rope stanchion can also be produced in any of our custom finishes and powder coat colors (2 week lead time). For posts that will see outdoor or damp conditions, weatherizing (clear powder coat on the post and double powder coat on the base) is available for an additional $59.00.
To keep polished and satin finishes looking their best, wipe posts with a soft, clean cloth and avoid abrasive pads that can scratch the surface. Lift posts rather than dragging them to keep the floor protector in good condition.
The post stands 39" (990 mm) tall with a 2" (50 mm) post diameter and weighs about 20 lbs (9 kg).
Posts ship flat packed or assembled, two per carton, and assembly requires no tools.
