Plasticade Hydrocade Water Barricade System

The Plasticade Hydrocade is a water-filled longitudinal channelizing device (LCD) for temporary traffic control, work zones and pedestrian routing. It is crash tested for TL-3 MASH acceptance (submitted to FHWA) and meets MUTCD standards. Hydrocade is not a redirective crash barrier and should only be used where redirective performance is not required.

  • 79" L x 17.5" W x 32" H, 72" connected length, 8" top width
  • 67 lbs empty; fill with 81 gallons of water for a 745 lb deployed weight; every unit is leak tested
  • Connector pins snap onto the barricade center for storage and transport
  • Turns 90° and adjusts to curbs up to a 6° incline; flat side helps eliminate pedestrian trip hazards
  • Two forklift access areas, stacking lugs and a light shelf for a standard barricade light
  • Medium density polyethylene, impact resistant

Colors and Sheeting

Standard in orange or white, with no sheeting, Engineer Grade or High-Intensity Prismatic retroreflective striped sheeting on the 44" x 8" areas on both sides. Custom colors are available. Looking for an exact part number? See Hydrocade by model number.

Hydrocade Fencing

Fence panels mount in place of the connector pins to build a 7 ft fence on the barricade line. You need two parts: the Hydrocade 7 ft Fence Panel (HYD-FPANEL7), 69" W x 51" H galvanized, and the Hydrocade 84" Fence Post with Pin (HYD-FPOST-KIT).

  • Connected line: 1 post per panel, plus 1 for the end (10 panels = 11 posts).
  • Separate units: 2 posts per panel (10 panels = 20 posts).

Per Plasticade, the Hydrocade with fencing has not been MASH tested.
